This week we will be working on the letters L and H. Our new sight words are one and see. Our vocabulary words are load, bound, steep, drooped, joyous, and thrill. We'll be spending some time listening for the ending sound in words.

We have an exciting week ahead of us! On Thursday, all of the Kindergarten students will be going to see The Snowy Day performed at Stages Theater in Hopkins. We will be leaving at 9:15 and returning at 11:30. We'll make it back to school in time to have lunch, so no need to send an extra lunch. I have lots of fun activities this week planned to get the class excited for the show!

Wednesday is Pajama Day/Comfy Clothes day for the Kindergarten students. We might even have to pop some popcorn and watch The Snowy Day movie on Wednesday :)

We'll be working on the letter O this week and our two new sight words are you and look.

Schedule for 1/18 - 1/22

This week we have two new sight words: where and do. Our vocabulary words are arrives, creeps, nestle, slumbering, delight, and blustery. The class will practice asking questions and learning what it means to interview someone.

We will continue our work in math on numbers 10-30.

This week we will be learning about the letters Bb and Kk. Two new sight words: me and for. Our vocabulary words are: fading, perhaps, prefer, warn, whirl, and property. With our stories this week we will be focusing on the details and generating questions.

In math, we will continue our work on numbers 0-30. The students have been busy working on their Zero the Hero project to help with learning the numbers!

This week is a review week in our curriculum so we will be reviewing the phonograms -it, and -ip. We will be discussing parts of a story (beginning, middle, and ending) and will be practicing listening for the middle sound in words. We will also be learning about poems and will practice creating some together.
