Mrs. Swanson is on her way to Culver's with some very excited kids! These kids earned a limo ride to Culver's for being some of the top fundraisers! Way to go!

Red-eyed tree frog

We just read the story Red-Eyed Tree Frog. The class did a great job of sharing what they already knew about these frogs and learned lots of new information about them. Ask your child why the female frogs lay their eggs on a leaf over water!

We have two new letters this week: Y and Z. We will be reviewing our sight words and vocabulary words. This week the students will practice writing a story with a partner. I'm looking forward to reading them!

We will finish our measurement chapter in math this week and will start a new chapter in Social Studies. The class will be learning about neighborhoods and what makes them similar and different. We will even construct our own little neighborhood in the classroom.

We only have a few items so far for our Coffee/Tea basket for the Carnival. If you can, please consider sending in something to add to the basket. Thank you!

This week our new sight words are she and good. We will be practicing writing stories this week and using the words first, next, and last in our writing. We will continue our work with measurement in math.

The Shirley Hills Carnival is coming up on April 24th. One of the silent auction items will be a classroom basket from our class. This year the theme is Coffee/Tea Lovers.
