This week our new letter is I, our word family is -in, and our sight word is be. We will begin chapter 7 in math today: Number Patterns. Students will practice finding patterns in a hundred chart, counting by 10's, 5's, and 2's, and explore even and odd numbers.
We will also begin a new chapter is social studies: Where Am I in the World? The class will explore the idea that they are part of several larger communities (family, neighborhood, city, state, country, world). They will be creating a book to demonstrate their understanding of different communities.
Tonight is Shirley Hills Family Skating at Thaler Arena from 6-8. There is no fee to skate, but bring your own skates!
On Wednesday afternoon we will be traveling to the Lowry Nature Center in Victoria. Part of our program will include a walk outside, so please make sure that your child has a coat, gloves, a hat, and boots on Wednesday! We will be eating our lunch, as usual, at Shirley Hills before we leave.
